Just took a walk w wife through the pastures, picked up downed sticks and chucked them into the forest, basked in the glowing fall colors, appreciated all the hard work and progress of the last 8 years, daydreamed about the results of the next 20. Good day on the farm, frens.

/ plan for this winter: drop a crap ton of trees to clean up verges of pastures that have gotten overgrown over last 30 years. (Would be nice if I drop enough to heat the house through the winter with nothing but wood).pic.twitter.com/y9oX4JpPcC

/ Once the verges are cleaned up, in a year ... or two ... or three ... I can fence in another pasture, which will give me more options for rotating sheep across pastures optimally.pic.twitter.com/DXsaEp8AFz

/ One thing I inspected today was "future cider orchard" which was absolutely SMOTHERED in Japanese knotweed when we got the farm 8 years ago. Now almost absolutely nothing but grass. Need to hire in a bulldozer for a day to contour, then plant apple varietals for hard cider.pic.twitter.com/PW6Vslqttv

/ Some of the trees I'll drop this winter will clear a ramp / dirt road area here, connecting "cross pasture" with the Future Cider Orchardpic.twitter.com/ruQjiWldZF
