That’s a misguided perception made by the Left’s usage of their media power which highlights those on the Left more so than the Right. But plenty of wealth and power on the Right as well.

They're not wealth but they are power. In fact, they're consumed by envy at the very idea that someone has any wealth that wasn't the result of progressive largess.https://twitter.com/CovfefeAnon/status/1442634496227127299 …

Yeah, it's worth noting that this is an established pattern. It's common enough that we have sayings and maxims about it.

I think there's a decent case to be made that it snuck up on them too. Puritan self-denial is a hell of a drug, particularly when money printing makes the high proles spend more and more (which is a great foil for your own projections of underdog-dom)

I wonder if its not so much the left but the group of rulers using the left/progressivism as a tool to maintain said power? Granted a lot has to do with progressive ideology, but how many are true believers vs how many use it as a tool for power and money, or both?

As the old saying goes, no one can serve two masters. You can serve Progress. You can serve Tradition. But if you serve Mammon, you can’t properly serve either, as you will always serve Mammon first.

I once saw an old school hard(ish) leftist call the SJW movement an arm of neoliberalism due to their tendency to be fine with inequality so long as enough people of the right identity group come out on top. Not endorsing it but it's a thought provoking take.
