3/ so you get this aliasing problem where there is 1 word and multiple concepts reminds me of coding in Ruby where I sometimes need to shim a library method so I first alias the old method foo() to foo_old() and then create a new method foo() which decorates foo_old()

The best version of this one is "don't call the people illegal, call the act illegal" but even then it carries inappropriate connotations unless the law itself is illegitimate, which is the claim being smuggled in. And I say this as someone who agrees with the claim!
