Even if it's not, so what? Do we have an obligation to 30 year olds to keep a neighborhood consistent so they can feel a place is familiar when they visit at Christmas which supersedes our obligation to provide useful things for people who live in a place year round?

Okay so why do I get a feeling of alienation when I visit the shopping mall that didn't exist when I was a kid, but I don't when I visit the 200 year old church?
