I always interpreted it as meaning that if you want to solve a problem it's better to have lots of regular guys working on a problem than one super smart guy, but I'm a stats guy so I'd tend to see it that way.

In art "talent" is thrown around far more than skilled. " Talent " becomes a backhanded compliment. Aptitude to learn a skill does not mean mastering it. Many things make the aptitude, but it still is many hours of working on the skill. You have to put in the work.
