Most people don't understand most things. Very little incentive these days to spend time "understanding things" when "feeling things" is so much easier.

Part of the problem is when people state the latter, a lot of the time they are simply communicating they believe the former-- that is, the latter is a rationalization. Of course, that's the bad faith way to understand others. But is realistic a lot of the time
