      2/ First, that's cut stone, not field stone. Stones don't come out of the ground with straight edges and a square shape. To get stones like that, you have to either quarry them, or dig them up from your fields and square them up.

      4/ These are not the hardest thing in the world to forge, but already I'm LOL-ing at WoG saying that pretty much anyone can do this "with basic instruction". You also need a star drill, which is also not too hard to drill, but you need to know how to pick a decent >>>

          8/ Pick and shovel work isn't rocket science ... but there is a bit of technique to it. Remember to slide your top hand down the pick as you swing. Don't bend over too far. Alternate sides and hands every 20 or so swings.

          A sack of lime is seven quid (you'll need a couple or more depending on how well you cut your stone). The stone is free. The roof tiles are cheap or free second hand. Rafters etc. made from round timber (cheap or free). The bricks are not strictly necessary but. And so on.

          It's heavy work. And if you buy all your stone it's not cheap. If you plan to get all your own stone, it's a LOT of work. Most people don't have a quarry handy. So you have to dig up/gather thousands and thousands of lbs of stone, haul it to your site, cut it to fit, etc.
