that is a reasonable stance, but I've got a hunch that it's wrong (happy to be corrected on this) I strongly get the vibe that Writer™ is an IDENTITY, and it has connotations: witty, intellectual, etc. c.f. Lisa Loeb's persona. It carries with it status in a certain tribe.
