I suspect its a ‘low key intimate wedding indicates greater emotional investment AND realistic expectations.’ Having one magical day creates a comparison issue. Sorta like Paris Syndrome for a relationship.

strongly agree people w small weddings are a sample of people, 99% of whom want to get married to be married people w huge weddings are a sample of people X% of whom want to be married,and y% of whom want a pageant
