I am cheering this on much in the same way that progressives cheer on the resignations of police officers who are mad about anti-brutality initiatives. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!https://endpts.com/breaking-in-a-major-blow-to-vaccine-efforts-senior-fda-leaders-stepping-down-report/ …

curious if this was your position at this time last year...

This is under-specified. I've been consistent on "faster access to vaccines, less 'process.'" I may be inconsistent on some other dimensions, but those aren't the dimensions I care about.

Sure, sure, but timing matters and the nature of the resignations matter. How would you have felt if they resigned this time last year, citing pressure from the Trump admin to move faster on vaccine approval?

Earlier would have been better because then we could have gotten rid of these feet-draggers earlier. Trump vs Biden is not too relevant, since they both wanted to accelerate the rollout.

I think the FDA needs to reform, they def should be faster, but this kind of thing makes me think that we're playing this game in which we laugh "hahahah burn the institutions down" and then turn around and say "wait, why doesn't anyone trust the institutions?"

libertarians haven't trusted the FDA for...as long as I've been a libertarian (30 years)
