twice now I have had the following experience happen: 1) I'm in the initial stages of doing a project 2) more famous person says "hey, I could help promote that; tell me when it's finished" 3) it's launching / finished, and I contact the person several times...w ZERO response

/ theories: * crap happens, the thing I didn't isn't quite their thing, they're busy, kid is sick, they are 2 months behind on email * my email to them is landing in the spam folder both very possible! but I kinda lean towards a third theory:

/ * the thing I did was surprisingly good, maybe a fair bit better than they expected, and suddenly mentioning me to their fan base is not merely a small nibble of content ("here's a quick link!"), but ... a potential competing brand, and they actively don't want to mention me

/ This third theory flatters me. It's like an abrasive annoying woman explaining to herself "men don't go on second dates with me because they're intimidated by my intelligence". You should ALWAYS question self-serving theories even harder than you question other theories.

/ so anyway, I'm left mystified in two cases, my emails got through to people and got responses in < 4 hrs ... right up until I launched a product, at which point it's as if my emails are disappearing into a black hole
