2/ theories: * crap happens, the thing I didn't isn't quite their thing, they're busy, kid is sick, they are 2 months behind on email * my email to them is landing in the spam folder both very possible! but I kinda lean towards a third theory:

3/ * the thing I did was surprisingly good, maybe a fair bit better than they expected, and suddenly mentioning me to their fan base is not merely a small nibble of content ("here's a quick link!"), but ... a potential competing brand, and they actively don't want to mention me

4/ This third theory flatters me. It's like an abrasive annoying woman explaining to herself "men don't go on second dates with me because they're intimidated by my intelligence". You should ALWAYS question self-serving theories even harder than you question other theories.

I have an annual Big Project that requires volunteers and elicits lots of promises of support...until the week of the project. Very annoying, but at least it has shown me who I can count on in a crunch
