Fuel trucks *have* to stop at every railroad track, even ones that are clearly not in use. I agree with this. The consequences of an unneeded stop are slight delays. The consequences of failing to make a needed stop are much higher.

I dispute this for cyclists, who actually do hear cars coming much better and have skin in the game (literally). Also why some places have stop-is-yield rules for bikes (or even let you run a red). The real issue tho is that 4-way stops are just shit tier traffic design.
