The thing that upsets me most about lawns is how many communities-even without HOAs-require homeowners to keep one even though they may prefer to grow food or keep low water landscaping.

I escaped the city because I want a farm more than a garden, but I am a strong advocate of urban and suburban right-to-garden.

Or the type of home they choose to live in, or how they get to work, or who they choose to live near, etc. And there's always only one "correct" answer among the outraged: Bike/transit to an apartment with "diverse" neighbors. Ppl with lawns don't care if strangers grow food.
