One of the less-explained and undertheorized parts of the panic over asset managers buying SFHs: The intuition among "normies" that a rental arrangement is completely fine for apartments, but deeply *morally* illegitimate for detached homes.

There are practical reasons why it's easier for companies rent out apartments in larger buildings or identical townhomes, rather than individual/bespoke attached homes. It scales better to have identical units. But this objection was clearly not about logistical efficiency.

it's because it's another form of regulatory capture - Single Family Zoning =/= multi family zoning market conditions
