16/ Bookstore John ( a friend of mine ) has already written to the A.G. I'm thinking of doing the same. Also prepping a few lawsuits. Town officials have DEFINITELY violated criminal laws.https://twitter.com/Gormogons/status/1402670471359905796 …

20/ The town fired the old lawyer and brought in a new, no-nonsense one a few months ago. She has obvious coached the ZBA on a few things - they are using new wording on certain things. ...but she has not coached them well enough, it seems.https://twitter.com/Gormogons/status/1402671644284444674 …

The Gormogons @GormogonsReplying to @MorlockPGP Honestly amazed that the Odyssey of the Illicit Barn (soon to be a Hardy Boys series) has gone on this long without someone with an iota of common sense stepping in and telling the town employees and board members they're all batshit crazy and need to cut this crap out now.3 replies 0 retweets 31 likesShow this thread -
21/ You can only tell a famously arrogant old townie where the water is; you can't make him drink.

24/ Because (a) it has a massive impact on property values, not just on my house, but up and down the street, (b) the law has been on the books for 30 years and he's being given special permission bc backroom deals, (c) runoff causes $30k of damage to mehttps://twitter.com/b01dface/status/1402672973102796800 …

See. Thats what gets me. IF we lived in a private law society then C would be the primary issue. And it is, still, kinda. But seeing as we also don’t, B matters cus if there are rules that are in place, then they must be enforced equally particularly DUE to C.

yep. I 100% agree, obviously, but it's a nuanced take, and so when baby libertarians jump in with "well, sure, you'll be fined if you violate the laws and hurt his property values, but that's no reason to CALL THE STATE IN when he violates them", I don't even bother

also, it's a lot easier to be a baby libertarian when you haven't worked for 30+ years, saving and investing and putting it all in real estate so a 21 yr old renter w no skin in the game says that I should lose $100-200k of equity in the name of libertarian purism

If you are a young libertarian and don’t think private companies can do what they want cus its their property, you have no heart. If you are a mature libertarian and don’t recognize cronyism makes the company not private, you have no brain.
