The first scene between Al Pacino and Chris O’Donnell takes freaking forever and has no point The scene with them sitting on the plane takes freaking forever and has no point the dialogue is abysmal

Al Pacino’s portrayal of a blind man is roughly as nuanced as Sacha Baron Cohen’s portrayal of Borat

*I am writing a comedy caper* CHARACTER 1. “Nobody knows what he looks like! I can pretend to be him!” CHAR 2. “You can pretend to be a blind man?” CHAR 1. “Sure, I‘ve seen SCENT OF A WOMAN like twenty times” *jump cut* CHAR 1. “HOO-AH” *kicks doorman in balls, knocks over table*

update: this whole movie is terrible. It may well be the worst famous film I have ever seen. Every scene is too long and Al Pacino says “hoo-ah” more often than anyone who was in the army ever did possibly even more than any Marine has ever said “oorah”

now Al Pacino is dancing the tango with Gabrielle Anwar and the band is playing “Por Una Cabeza” also the tube used for the tangos in TRUE LIES (1994) whoever was pushing that tune to movie producers in the early ‘90s, good job

there is a scene where Chris O’Donnell is referring to a piece of paper for an important phone call Al Pacino does not want him to make, so Pacino eats the paper and I cracked up bc in 2021 the phone number would be on O’Donnell’s contacts & Pacino would be eating a cell phone
