like event space or studio space. you'd be doing it off season (after Labor Day), so you could probably get a good price. You could find a vacant retail space and do that, but you'd have to contend with a) it's too far out and they want a longer term tenant b) the space too raw

I've looked at hotels, but I haven't been impressed, considering the price. I was thinking industrial bldgs or empty office space, but I don't know how to go about looking for (very) short-term availability. Just call a commercial broker?

Look on loopnet for places to get an idea of what’s available. Then maybe call a commercial broker or two. If you see a guy attached to a lot of likely places, start with him. He’s not gonna be that interested tbh, essentially no $ in it for him, but

He may have a client who has some space and flexibility to place let’s make a deal. Or he could send you in the right direction of some spaces. I’ll think a bit more on this too
