The thrust of the thing though is if we all went the autist route and only cared about long term economic outlook there'd basically never be wars, but history has proven Friedman's McDonald's thing a fallacy. War is probably more fought for cultural reasons more than anything

And we know what China's cultural posturing has been for decades now. Might not be today, might not be tomorrow, but the party is going to want to assert it's validity eventually
