Are there languages besides English that don't use casual family terms for age bands? E.g. in East Asia it is common to refer to older people as Aunt or Uncle if they're your parents age. I think Spanish similarly?

English has done it on occasion; at one time white Southerners addressed older black people in this way to resolve the cultural dilemma of needing to show respect for age without, you know, using the terms “Mrs.” or “Mr.” Thus Uncle Remus, Uncle Ben, and Aunt Jemima.
