Theory: in John Wick everyone is already dead, Sixth Sense style. It explains a lot. I will Explicate later.

2/ (To be clear, this is certainly not canon, it's just an alt explanation that happens to fit a lot of the facts. For the funsies.)

3/ John Wick and the other assassins are basically never perceived by the normies. There are motorcycle vs car duels in the middle of Manhattan, gun fights in train stations, etc. and no normie every notices it. >>>

4/ A homeless guy shoots two people in the middle of a subway platform, and no one notices? Two assassins have a running gun battle in Rome, no one sees? So we have this absolute complete bifurcation of people: normies interact w normies, and assassins interact with assassins.

5/ Clearly the normies are alive, and the assassins are spirits, or ghosts, or demons. There are two or three semi-normies that perceive the spirits: * Aurellio the mechanic * John Wick's wife Helen * Jimmy the cop

6/ Aurellio is actually probably a spirit too - we see him interact with lots of other spirits, but never a normie. OK, so scratch that. Jimmy might be a normie, and his dialog might be explaining how the world will perceive the phenomena that spills over. "Gas leak, John?"

7/ Or maybe Jimmy is a helpful spirit, an angel, letting John wrap up his affairs and move on to the next stage.pic.twitter.com/iMy6ikQIgo

8/ What about Helen? Dozens of characters, Winston foremost among them, talk about John Wick having "left this life", "gone to the other side", etc. John Wick is some sort of spirit, and he crossed over to the living / human world for love ...but doing so doomed Helen >

9/ The Fair Folk can, perhaps, live in the human world, but not without a cost to those around them.

ⓘ Dogs don't have thumbs added,
Zombie Claude Rains @ZombieClaudeRReplying to @MorlockPThe LitRPG approach has them in a highly realistic simulation that suppresses questioning that this is anything other than reality. The normies are NPCs, of course, with greatly lesser processing draw for all but a few Fionas. (The only realistic human in first 'Shrek'.)5 replies 0 retweets 9 likesShow this thread
11/ The one time in the John Wick series where normies see anything is in the train fight between John and Cassian in #2. ...but even then, watch them DURING the fight - they barely turn their heads, or notice. They just scatter at the end of it. They Felt something Odd.
