GP The hill to die on isn't excluding illegal aliens from the census count altogether. The hill to die on excluding illegal aliens from apportionment.

GP Well, yeah. I was foolishly attempting to limit my argument to the census, but you're clearly right. Did you catch my proposed quick draft of an immigration amendment yesterday?https://www.gormogons.com/index.php/2021/04/puters-practically-perfect-in-every-way-immigration-amendment/ …

I largely agree, but have concerns on 1) retroactive length and 2) actions by the government against minor children who do not control where they go. As an issue of government power, I am really hesitant to put adults and minor children in the same bucket.

gov takes actions against children all the time a child born in Kenya stays in Kenya a child that is supposed to be in Kenya should not get special rights bc his mom illegally brought him to the US and, finally, !@# the kids this demographic tidal wave is destroying America >

we are in lifeboat ethics at this point America is PROBABLY going to die, no matter what we do, but if we have to deport 1-2 million children who come from cultures that are incompatible with western norms of liberty etc, to have a chance of surviving, then so be it

GP Pretty much where I'm at, but I'm more "your age isn't a valid defense to your illegal presence, you're going home."

Their age doesn't make their presence legal. It makes them not responsible for being there illegally, and I have a hard time with giving the government leave to take actions against people for things that those people didn't do. I don't like setting that precedence.

you keep repeating the same point at people who have already told you that they don't care / are not convinced do you think this is going to sway someone?

I was trying to say it a different way and appeal to a common concern (government overreach). Also, was talking to two different people (and bystanders.) But, sure, done.
