I'm integrating a good bit of top soil (like 50/50, but if you have a local dairy or some such, you can often get them to dump a load of manure. I'm probably going to do a lot of raised beds, too. It's experiment year this year. Just bought the place.

around here they'll give it away, but you have to show up w your own truck (if you're lucky, they'll load your truck for you). I find it easier to pay a local quarry ~ $30 / cubic yard to have them bring over loam / compost mix
