The most distressing thing about propaganda (and in that category i emphatically include most advertising) is how gullible it reveals most people to be. We're living on a planet of monkeys.

Healthy skeptical awareness is useful, but I think it's also inevitable that images and ideas end up possessing even the wise. The key is being aware enough to control consumption in order to sell yourself only the propaganda that happens to be True
