many people rightly pointing out I chose imperfect measures, but sadly no amount of median, PPP, euro buying power or adjustments makes up for the enormous wealth difference between spain and the us

why do you think that? there are better measures but gdp per capita in this case is very stark you can make a regional comparison if u like but europe as a whole is still much poorer than the us, with worse unemployment
