property taxes in town are going up 15% this year this is absolutely unheard of around here I think that this will help my cause at the ballot box - gonna get people to the polls, and put them in a "!@# these guys, NO ON EVERYTHING" mood

6/ I can not conceptualize the mindset that would use the word "seems" here. This is a question about math, and it is resolved with math. I worked the spreadsheet extensively before I moved, and NH is a clear win. >>> https://twitter.com/Archie79675316/status/1367111098181246980 …

7/ Were I still in my 1,200 square foot, 0.1 acre house in MA, wife and I would be paying a combination of $31,530 in town property tax and state income tax. Here in NH in a 5,500 square foot, 56 acre house, we are paying a combination of $12,660 property taxes and income taxes

8/ The combined NH property + income tax is 60% lower than in MA ... plus I can shoot my 50 caliber sniper rifle in the back yard, have bonfires and pig roasts, and breath free, far from the urban bugmen.

Anecdotally, people I know who fled NYC mostly vote red. The people who never left the town I grew up in mostly vote blue like they're still voting for pro-worker guys in the 70s. Country Ds and City Ds are functionally not the same party, but Country Ds haven't noticed.

I can attest to the Masshole statement. I know 5 people who have left Mass for NH this year and all were conservatives. We do have plenty of liberal coastal elites, but as a whole Mass is much different than Cali or NYC.
