To be fair, they did say "days or weeks". But it'll definitely be days.

yeah, but that's rhetorical bullshit "the fact that I lost $5 on the lottery may cost me $5 or bankrupt me"

One major reason I relocated back to the Northeast: collective resilience. Even Florida, with its centuries of hurricanes and NOA's top notch modeling, it still felt like Mad fucking Max a week out from Irma landing. Most yankees are ready for the next ice storm.
-
How would the northeast fare with two weeks of 120 degree temperatures? Texas has not temperatures below freezing for an extended period of time since the late 1800s. You can’t fault them for not preparing for a once-in-a-century weather event.

For once I'm glad that North Louisiana isn't on the radar. The ice and snow is just melting after a week. I received my 1st mail delivery today and it was from last Saturday. But we'll get back to normal soon. Shreveport has no water, but my well is still pumping.
-
I think I20 is finally open. Louisiana tends to ignore North Louisiana. But I49 is still closed at last check. But anyone who was remotely prepared for a hurricane or tornado is fine. We can't keep relying on dying infrastructure. We have to be prepared.
