It comes out to 350 calories per dollar with a lot of variety, and a long shelf life, which itself is valuable - but I agree that it probably wouldn't last 4 of me a whole year.

well 1200 a day works for me, even with manual labor. I only eat 1200 cals now and I exercise everyday, sometimes twice a day. but ortho needs like 2200 I think, per day.

Harris Benedict equation shows me at about 3,200 kcal/day steady state at 2,500 / day I lose weight at a decent clip !
