1/ I'm not in a bad mood, but I've got one small cranky thought: I don't understand when midwits come into smart spaces and say really really dumb things. I've occasionally hung out w, say, a bunch of physics PhDs who def have a std dev or so on me, and I am well aware of that

8/ Because, if I were to speak, what is there to say? "I have heard 23 opinions from you, and there have been 35 kinds of dumb in those 23 statements. Really, twitter person, I think it would be best if you never spoke to me...or even near me." ? That's not so nice.

Winning. Most of us are in conversations because we want other people to listen to us - not because we actually want to listen to other people. If you can choke that impulse down, esp in the presence of stupidity, you're ahead of me.
