As I've been revising the homesteading book, I've been double checking prices. I've seen 20+% price increases on almost every product I recommend, over just 24 months. This was $650 in 2019; it's $999 today. https://www.webstaurantstore.com/ary-vacmaster-vp215-chamber-vacuum-packaging-machine-with-10-1-4-seal-bar/120VMASVP215.html … "Stealth inflation" is real.
TY ! I've had one (the above model) for ~6 years, and it's awesome. Amusingly, VacMaster now seems to be the premium model at the above ecommerce store, vs a lower priced clone. Curious what the top-top end brand is?

The top brand in the segment is Henkelman, who is absolutely dominant worldwide (and deservedly). Looks like they don't sell on Webstaurant, though. I'd also consider Berkel a premium, and they're backed by the Hobart/ITW service conglomerate, which is worth a lot.

In the end, it's a simple piece of machinery, and designed for a duty cycle no home user will ever approach, so I can't imagine the premium would be worth it (for a home user). Just get the VacMaster and make sure to run your pump conditioning cycles.
