coding is probably the weirdest skill on this list coding an algorithm that does a thing in the "best" way possible is a one time task, why do we need so many coders, so many languages, so many algorithms, and how much of *type in keyboard* -> *algo comes out* can one automate

'Thing' is doing a lot of work in your post. If it means pure computation (say, compression), then you're right, there aren't many things to do (but we haven't stopped inventing better math, so it's not like we do it once and we're done).

Plumbing, electrical, welding, and HVAC. Even in the future, everyone will need to poop, heat their home, and have electricity. The welding is needed for any infrastructure. My brother in law can do all 4, if he stopped doing drugs, he would be set.
