yep I had this same experience maybe 5 or 8 years ago when I learned, and then I rewatched a few and realized "it's not that Jamie is just unamused ... he actively hates Adam".

My understanding is that Jamie and the producers had the initial idea and the screen tests showed that Jamie had no charisma so they specifically went out, LOOKING for a clown.
