/ Back in middle school, I got picked on a lot. Verbally, but also physically. I lived in a kind of rural town that was like 1/3 white collar, 1/3 decent blue collar, and 1/3 white trash. The elementary schools were great, but for some reason the middle school was terrible.

/ If a kid was a nerd, or fat, or not part of the in crowd, it was the done thing to trip him, knock his books down, sucker punch him, or whatever. The hallways were effectively unpoliced, so this happened EVERY SINGLE DAY.

/ The normal response was to keep your head down, shrug off the single punch, pick your books up after you were tripped. I thought that was bullshit.

/ So I made it a policy that whenever anyone slapped, punched, or tripped me, I'd go wild on their ass. Just raining down blows. This usually ended up as a 2-on-1 or 3-on-1 fight, but I'd never cry uncle of give up - just keep punching, even if I took 2x or 3x as many fists.

/ So that's the moral, and my plea: we're all a lot tougher than we think we are, and the fear of pain is a lot worse than the actual pain. If the communists try to cancel you, remember the rule from boxing:

/ Keep your chin down and LEAN INTO THE PUNCH. !@# those candy ass bitches. They have no real power over you, they only have fear. They can get you fired? !@# em, there are more jobs out there. It's better to die on your feet than live on your knees. Never give an inch.
