I thought the zombie genre was played out, but man do we need one that's about the institutional dysfunction of 2020.

I suspet that the zombie mania of a few years ago was driven in large part by people who *felt* institutional decay, but didn't *notice* it yet.

My theory at the time was that it was bc of Islamic terrorism (9/11, etc) but the top down narrative control that YOU CANT SAY THAT, and thus it was sublimated anxiety, when you're simultaneously told to be afraid of ... something...but not told what.
