Huh. Seems I've gotta read some 19th century Russian literature.https://twitter.com/NoNamesAreReal/status/1349380681105895431 …

There's only one book I struggled through, in all the political philosophy I read in 4 semesters...and it was Hegel. God, what contrite drivel. Theory literally could have been written in a pamphlet...but noooooooo

I've only read TBK so far from Dostoevsky. Which of his should I tackle next?

You may say this offhand but YES. 19th Century Russian (ending with the Revolution, one more reason to hate communism) is the greatest. Chekhov short stories and Lermontov are good places to start.

"A Gentleman in Moscow" introduced me to 19th century Russian literature, and I was not disappointed.

Russian liter is basically a guy trying to decide if he should kill himself or not and by the time you get to the end you really wish he'd just do it already

One of the biggest Bros K fans I know is a committed marxist (yes, lower-case). It's a fine novel. My personal recommendation as a nihilistic cavalryman is Lermontov's A Hero of Our Time.
