saw a post by @jeremykauffman just now, and I'm reminded that I need to seriously dig into https://lbry.com/ ; a decentralized (?) / blockchain (?) content hosting marketplace. An alternative to youtube and Amazon kindle.
( ? = my ignorance; need to read more)

5/ the content on Lbry is mostly video right now, but ebooks are supported. I'm looking into uploading my novels there. Give it a shot. It took me 60 seconds to install the desktop app.https://twitter.com/jeremykauffman/status/1348286528284467200 …

Keep in mind: At least as of the original design I reviewed a few years ago (and this would require a significant change), all of the mechanisms for private/pay to access content are circumventable if you access the blockchain directly. Source: Friends with early team.

The original motivation was explicitly anti-IP. That doesn't change the fact that it also avoids centralized filtering, but does influence the design. Also, I'm still not convinced any functionality requires a blockchain vs cheaper decentralized data structures, but whatever.
