My husband treats it routinely in hospital. Outside of the initial wave, it has been “It goes up, the covid unit gets a little full, then it goes back down. Rinse and repeat.” He takes it seriously too, but no one is eye-rolling at the hysterics more than he is.

My sister-in-law was worn out from patients coming up from the city back in March and April, she even caught it back when the hospitals weren't allowing nurses to wear masks because of CDC guidelines, but it's leveled off now, according to her.

CA is the only place I'm convinced it's happened. And it's because people are throwing house parties since there's nothing else to do

When I’m not on maternity leave my job is to report the nhs statistics to govt ministers here in the UK. There is only so much hospitals can do with delaying electives before they are full. A “bed” is not a simple bed, but a % of each doctor and nurse on shift.

We have a centrally planned training programme for all doctors and nurses in the uk (we choose the number that can train) and that has led to shortages from savings that were made by the govt 10+ years ago.
