interesting thread via @kendrictonn
a similar dynamic exists in fiction writing - the way to earn the big bucks is, apparently, to crank out 3-6 novel-shaped-objects per year https://t.co/SvF4qBgMu0

10/ I know that my fiction writing, all told, earns me a bit north of $15/hr. I haven't broken it down further. I can, tho... https://twitter.com/JacksonianDavis/status/1343622767145582592 …

11/ I think that short stories like Staking a Claim take me maybe 4 days, plus half a day for my wife to make a cover? So 36 hours? Hmm, that's not bad - that means that shorts, integrated over, say, three years, earn me around $50/hr. Ah, but on the other hand, Firefly S2 >

12/ earned me $5 over the last 90 days, so $60 over three years, but perhaps half the writing time, so $3.33 / hr The Team earned me $65 over 90 days, so $22/hr. Caterpillar: $50/90 days, so $17/hr.

13/ so, anyway, looks like Aristillus stories can earn me $20-50/hr. (Tho it takes 3 years to earn that money ... not going to bother with net present value calculations). Mmm... not terrible.

15/ I've got a few Aristillus short stories I'm thinking about writing. One is about a small splinter colony that got left behind at the end of book 2, another is about George White, the PI. Maybe some back story re Ewoma's family getting to Ari from Nigeria.

16/ I'd kind of like to finish two half-written stories first, just to clear the decks: Timetraders #2, and Caterpillar #2. /shrug I dunno.
