Writing the chapter on solar energy for homesteads, doing maths ... and, holy !@#, guys, I'm getting a solar system installed next year. NH has extremely expensive electricity, and we use a lot of it ($386/mo). NPV of 25 yrs (lifetime of a system) is $80k. Panels are < $20k

2/ oh, thanks, I didn't think about that you know how I am, always ignoring details and hand-waving things instead of doing research and math https://twitter.com/Baudrill_tard/status/1340036879459131392 …

3/ umm... you're saying that electricity from natural gas generation costs more in NH than in AZ because it's overcast? No. Power is expensive in NH bc (a) hard to maintain lines in ice storm country, (b) stranded costs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seabrook_Station_Nuclear_Power_Plant … https://twitter.com/Baudrill_tard/status/1340037975770427392 …

Replying to @MorlockP
"Largest generating unit on the New England grid"... "Unit 2 has been cancelled" God damn, I'm still mad that we invested so much in nuke and then decided to scrap it while it was clearly our best option.
