This isn’t mine to decide. MS last I heard did not want to contribute TS as such. TC39 champions with the chops and motivation would have to spec a common optional type system.

So long as TS is a superset of JS and JS is governed via TC39 consensus among many vendors who countervail one another when necessary, I don't see the problem. TS is a huge success. It also won't be standardized as such, but a common optional type system could underpin it, maybe.
