2/ Dozens of people told me "don't reduce the font size ; my eyes are old". OK...so they're not primarily in favor of three volumes; they're AGAINST small type. I just did an experiment - formatted some text in the SAME FONT SIZE as my fiction trade paperbacks

3/ (11 pt Garamond, which is actually larger print than typical publisher trade paperbacks) I then adjusted the page size to 8.5 x 11, and went to two columns. The result was ... quite readable.pic.twitter.com/pkO6qIw4iJ

4/ One motivation for this is that I think it's going to be a lot easier to sell a set of two books than a set of three, and this is especially true through retail channels (if I'm lucky enough to place the book w Lowes, Tractor Supply, etc.). Also, there's fall off in sales >
