/ I'm getting very angry. This book is so well written...and the entryists who have taken over SF deny that there were female authors, black authors, gay authors...they assert that they had to take over and purge SF c. 2000 or so, to disavow its tainted roots
/ There was SO DAMN MUCH great fiction, and they're effectively burned it all, by rewriting history. They stole the awards, and hand them out to garbage authors like Scalzi. The entire genre has been killed, gutted, skinned, and is worn as a grotesque robe by the talentless.

/ Finished "The Long Tomorrow". Not a MAJOR novel, but an excellently crafted one. I complained recently that "This is How You Lose The Time War" was poetically written, but ended up being kinda garbage because there was no plot to speak of.https://twitter.com/MorlockP/status/1327023684238848001 …

/ Also, TiHYLtTW had, theoretically, two characters ... and yet neither of them really had any personality. They were cardboard cut outs standing in for Bookish Yet Strong Women , and...they were identical. The "love story" wasn't remotely any such thing, bc there were no ppl
/ Contrast that to The Long Tomorrow, where the level of poetry was almost as high, and yet in a very short novel (250 pp), there were DOZENS of distinct characters, each of whom felt very real.
