/ Still angry at that person who was upset that covid tests return positive on applesauce. This is a true smoothbrain response, from someone who has never once investigated how measurement works. It's almost logically impossible to measure the qualia of a thing.

/ The human inner ear does not measure rotation - it measures the displacement of the cupula in a water filled channel, because the cupula is displaced by the inertia of the water if the head rotates. HOWEVER, if you drink alcohol, relative densities of cupula & fluid change

/ and the cupula is displaced, and the measurement system registers acceleration.

/ The fuel sensor in a car's gas tank doesn't measure fuel - it's a float, and it measures how high it's riding / what angle it makes with a baseline. If you park your car on a slope, or fill the tank with water, it measures different values.

/ Ammeters don't measure amps - they pass electricity through a coil, that creates a magnetic field, that field pulls on a spring loaded readout needle, and the deflection is correlated with current flow. If you bring a magnet nearby, the meter registers amps even w/o current

/ Scales don't measure mass, they measure deflection.

/ Academic tests don't measure mastery of the material, they measure correct answers (or, rather, answers that match what the test creator wants). If you use a cheat sheet, the test registers correct answers.

/ Seeing that a covid test responds to apple sauce doesn't tell you that covid doesn't exist, or that the test is an op. It just tells you that tests need to be used in a way consistent with their design, because a test measures X which is correlated with Y IF AND ONLY IF Z.

Replying to @MorlockP
If one can test positive from a swab taken soon after eating applesauce, this still seems like a weakness in the test.
