/ one thing I hate about gun culture is the same thing I hate about cop culture: the cargo cult habit of adding superfluous words to sound "technical". 0:36 "optical target acquisition systems" you mean ... "sights" ? 11 syllables instead of 1 to sound smarthttps://twitter.com/corbinspencer1/status/1334989065431773184 …

/ e.g. me: cooking, looking around for a thing wife: "what are you looking for?" me: "uh ... you know, my combat operational stirring system package system"

/ and, as cringe as this shibboleth of gun culture is, it's not nearly as bad as what happens at any gathering of 6+ gun nerds: sooner or later some says "let's show our EDC!" [ EDC = "every day carry", i.e. "the crap in your pockets" ]

/ so then all the gun nerds empty their pockets, ankle holsters, EMT bags, their OTHER ankle holsters, etc. and start piling guns, knives, tactical operations window breaking tools, EMT shears, six season tactical firestarting systems, etc etc etc on the table, freaking normies

/ re the video quoted in #1 at top of the thread ...yeah, I was curious. Poe's Law, tho - if 99% of gun culture is like this, it's kinda hard to tell the 1% that's sarc apart. https://twitter.com/mattbramanti/status/1335288024364625921 …
