actually, there might be a transistor or two in the table saws "magnetic" safety switch ... but I think it's just a dumb relay with a ferrous electromagnet in it

I'm nowhere near a techy but can't imagine why anyone would want 'smart' anything. I like my devices dumb, preferably with analogue interfaces, thank you kindly. More durable and no chance it will stop working because the beep boop internet police don't like me.

I do think there’s a case for moving locks away from 9th century technology, as long as there’s some kind of failsafe. Not sure what problem Internet doorbells is supposed to solve though.
