I don't farm, so I don't know how much the state ag extension will do for free/cheap and when your problems are big enough to pay a consultant. (That probably varies a little by state, too.) And yes, we're also called Geotechnical Engineers. That's what my license reads.

Some of what I'm saying is "Don't ask the engineer what to do to make your crops grow better." That's not our expertise. People *have* asked me questions like that.
