Public school teachers are midwit smooth brains, and I mostly hate them. https://www.johndcook.com/blog/2020/11/16/i-think-ill-pass/ …pic.twitter.com/7TZK4vd15U

What is the green m&m test?
One of the hair bands had a provision in their rider: bowls of M&M’s everywhere, BUT NO GREEN M&M’s. Initially reported as “crazy prima donna rockers!” Band said it was a litmus test. If they missed that detail, it wasn’t safe to take the stage (pyro, etc, needed care to be safe)
I used to do the equivalent of the green M&M test in a couple of classes that were discussion based. 75 min Class would begin with a very fast, short did-you-do-the-reading quiz. Flunk that quiz, you don’t talk today. Final grade was 1/3 graded class discussion.
Quiz and test writing is an art at which most teachers are not very good, or very efficient, but would like to be. To become good at it they would need to be able to govern test-writing by its purpose and for many of them the purpose is “this is school so we test things”
