Very good interview. I long for the days when there were left of center SF authors, and right of center SF authors, and the tent was big enough for everyone and one side wasn't trying to take over and drive out their enemies. https://youtu.be/O1bZe7bdXMw

I have an admission to make. I keep slagging LeGuin, but her work keeps giving me ideas.
I see how she handles a theme & immediately see a way to make it more interesting. My upcoming book has both hermaphroditic post-humans & a machine that alters the past by altering memories. -
Lathe is somewhat similar to Zelazny's The Dream Master, which was rewritten as the movie Dreamscape. I need to watch this ... might be the closest thing to a halfway decent Zelazny adaptation.

I should probably rewatch this. I first saw it around the time it came out, but found it hard to follow and dull. But then again I wasn’t old enough to drive, IIRC.

There's also an absolute shit adaptation by the sci-fi channel that you should never watch.
