I turn 50 inside the year. I've started companies, written books, been raided by the JTTF, beaten felony charges, gotten married, taught myself to farm, and written novels. My dad still gives me advice on how to tie my shoes. DO NOT WANT. https://twitter.com/BradWilcoxIFS/status/1327005375019835393 …

>"300 miles away is perfect." An interesting observation, and I'm not entirely sure you're right. I've been ~1500 miles away for my adult life, my sister has been <1 mile away for hers, and neither of those results have seemed optimal.

But, if you take the geometric mean on those endpoints, you get about 40 miles - and that seems pretty plausible. 40 miles seems like: "Hey, should we go visit the grandkids?" "Sure! But, y'know, we're gonna have to make an afternoon of it, so let's call in advance."
