Funny..thats exactly how the house I grew up in was. Started off as a 1 family, was changed to a 2 family with a blocked off staircase, and then back to a one. The 2nd bath upstairs was only a toilet and a sink.

Heck, let’s just regress to 4 families per studio apartment, one chamber pot for each 4-unit floor. Lived in such a unit with my girlfriend, was thrilled to have a functional bathroom and not 14 roommates. NYC LES

I bought the house I grew up in from my parents. The people across the street remodeled, went through inspection — and remodeled again, this time without telling the city. >

They put small kitchens in every bedroom, getting through inspection by having the plumbing stubbed out in the walls. I don’t know what to think of that, but it pissed off a lot of our neighbors.
